Suspension and Withdrawal Policy
Article 1 – Purpose of the Policy
This policy aims to regulate the procedures for temporary suspension and final withdrawal from academic and training programs and to clarify the provisions related to tuition and financial matters in a manner that protects the rights of both the student and the University.
Article 2 – Scope of Application
This policy applies to all students enrolled in the academic and training programs offered by US Meta Arees International University, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral, professional, and training programs.
Section I: Temporary Suspension of Studies
Article 3
A student may apply for a temporary suspension of studies for justified reasons acceptable to the University.
Article 4
A suspension request must be submitted in writing to the Student Affairs Department before the start of the academic semester or the next academic stage.
Article 5
A suspension may be granted for one academic semester or one full academic year, depending on the nature of the program and subject to approval by the academic administration.
Article 6
A temporary suspension shall not entitle the student to a refund of any fees already paid unless otherwise determined by the University.
Article 7
The University may retain the paid fees as a student credit balance that may be used upon resumption of studies within a period not exceeding twelve (12) months from the date of suspension, unless an extension is approved by the University.
Section II: Final Withdrawal
Article 8
A student may request final withdrawal from an academic or training program at any time by submitting an official written request.
Article 9
The withdrawal shall become effective from the date on which the University approves the request and all related administrative and financial procedures have been completed.
Section III: Tuition Refund Policy
Article 10
Registration fees, admission fees, academic file fees, and administrative processing fees are non-refundable under all circumstances.
Article 11
If a student requests withdrawal before any actual academic or educational services have commenced, the University may refund part of the tuition fees after deducting the applicable registration, admission, and administrative fees.
Article 12
A student shall not be entitled to claim any refund once any of the following actions has occurred:
- Issuance of an academic admission letter.
- Creation of the student’s academic account or activation of the learning platform.
- Provision of the study plan or research plan to the student.
- Appointment of an academic or research supervisor.
- Commencement of educational, supervisory, or training sessions.
- Delivery of educational materials or academic courses to the student.
Article 13
For Master’s, Doctoral, and research-based programs, the appointment of an academic supervisor, the provision of a research plan, or the commencement of academic supervision shall constitute evidence that academic services have begun. Consequently, any fees already paid shall become non-refundable.
Article 14
In exceptional cases involving force majeure or extraordinary circumstances, the University President or an authorized representative may review each case individually and make an appropriate decision without creating a binding precedent for the University.
Section IV: General Provisions
Article 15
The University reserves the right to amend this policy whenever necessary, provided that any amendments are officially announced through the University’s approved communication channels.
Article 16
A student’s registration and payment of tuition fees shall constitute acknowledgment that the student has read, understood, and fully agreed to the terms and conditions of this policy.
Article 17
In the event of any dispute arising from the implementation of this policy, the University’s final decision, based on its academic and administrative regulations and bylaws, shall be considered the governing authority.
This policy has been approved by the Administration of US Meta Arees International University and shall enter into force as of the date of its approval and publication.
