Examinations and Academic Integrity Policy
- Purpose
This policy aims to ensure that all assessment and examination processes at US Meta Arees International University are conducted according to the highest standards of fairness, integrity, and academic accuracy, in compliance with U.S. higher education requirements.
- Scope of Application
This policy applies to all:
- Final examinations
- Quizzes
- Academic assignments
- Projects
- Online and in-person assessments
Across all academic and professional programs.
- Principles of Assessment
The University adopts the following principles:
- Fairness and equality among students
- Transparency in assessment criteria
- Confidentiality of examination questions
- Integrity of the examination process
- No discrimination or favoritism
- Examination Preparation
Examinations are prepared by:
- The course instructor
- And reviewed by the Head of Department or the Academic Committee
Questions must:
- Be aligned with learning outcomes
- Be varied (multiple choice, essay, applied, projects)
- Assess knowledge, skills, and analytical ability
- Examination Administration
Examinations are conducted:
- In person at approved centers
- Or through secure electronic systems
Monitoring mechanisms include:
- Direct supervision for in-person exams
- Identity verification
- Session recording when necessary
- Ensuring Academic Integrity
The University uses the following measures to prevent misconduct:
- Student identity verification
- Plagiarism detection software
- Randomized and varied questions
- Online proctoring for distance learning
- Violations and Penalties
Academic violations include:
- Cheating
- Plagiarism
- Identity fraud
- Leakage of exam questions
Penalties may include:
- Failure in the course
- Cancellation of the exam
- Academic warning
- Temporary or permanent dismissal
- Appeals
Students have the right to submit a written appeal within five (5) working days from the date of result announcement. Appeals are reviewed by an independent committee.
- Records Retention
The University maintains records of:
- Examination papers
- Assessment results
- Integrity reports
For a minimum of five (5) years.
- Review and Updates
This policy is reviewed annually by the Academic Affairs Council.
