Dr. Ramez Alkhatib is a distinguished academic and researcher with extensive expertise in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, and data management. He currently serves as Dean of the College of Science and Technology at US Meta Arees International University, where he contributes to advancing academic and technological programs aligned with global innovation trends.

Dr. Alkhatib holds a PhD in Computer and Information Science from the University of Konstanz, Germany, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany, and a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics from the University of Aleppo, Syria.

With over two decades of academic, research, and administrative experience, Dr. Alkhatib has held several senior academic leadership positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Information Engineering, Dean of the Applied Faculty, Vice Dean, Director of a Technical Computer Institute, and faculty member at multiple universities.

He currently serves as Data Management Manager at the Biomaterial Bank North, Research Center Borstel, Germany, and has previously worked as a research associate and scientist in international academic and research institutions. His professional experience also includes participation in international research collaborations and applied industry projects.

Dr. Alkhatib’s research interests include data science, clinical and biological data management, machine learning and deep learning, data management systems, business intelligence, cryptography, and data compression techniques. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in international journals and has presented his work at prestigious scientific conferences worldwide.

In addition to his academic and research career, Dr. Alkhatib has extensive experience in professional training, having delivered specialized programs in data management and evaluation in cooperation with international organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

He also serves as a reviewer for several international scientific journals and has supervised numerous undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral research projects.

Under his leadership, the College of Science and Technology focuses on delivering modern academic programs that integrate theoretical foundations with practical applications, particularly in artificial intelligence, data science, information systems, and software engineering, supporting the university’s vision for innovation-driven education.
